5. MJX X400W

MJX X400W Best Drones Under $100This FPV drone takes the 5th place on this Best Drones Under $100 list. Now you should not set your expectations too high on this one. The MJX X400W provides many features that can be seen on the more expensive drones however the quality is not as good. This is a good choice for someone who’s never flown a drone before and would like to try it out for a small amount of money.

So what makes this drone one of the best drones under $100? The built-in camera will record everything as you fly so that you later on can watch it on your computer. You may also connect your smartphone to the remote and you’ll be able to view the footage in FPV real-time. It has a control range of 100 meters (328 feet) and an estimated flight time of 8-9 minutes. Not to mention that it also features Headless Mode which aids you as a beginner when practicing your pilot skills. Also the One Key 3D Roll will make the drone flip 360° with a single press of a button.

The MJX X400W is compatible with VR-Goggles which is very rare for a drone of this price. This is undoubtedly the best feature about the MJX X400W. The goggles are not included so you will have to buy them separately if you would like to experience this.

4. Syma X8C Venture

Syma X8C Venture Best Drones Under $100At first glance, the Syma X8C Venture resembles the famous DJI Phantom models produced by DJI – a well established drone manufacturer. Of course this one is not even close to the DJI Phantom’s when it comes to quality but that’s kind of expected from a drone that costs less than a $100, and that’s where the Syma X8C Venture shines. It has a control range of 200 meters (656 feet) which totally outclasses any other drones on this list. The built-in HD camera makes it possible to capture high definition aerial footage while flying. The camera can be dismounted and the drone will perform better without it.

This drone is pretty heavy, 601g including the battery and camera. Because of this it will provide a much more stable flight than the smaller drones on this list. In order to withstand this weight the Syma X8C is equipped with large propellers and a large 2S 2000mAh battery. Flight time is approximately 9 minutes. However I’ve read reviews about users who’s been able to fly it for up to 12 minutes! Keep in mind that the transmitter needs 4 x AA batteries which is not included.

Featuring highly elastic propeller protectors allows this drone to become very durable and thanks to the colorful flashing lights it’s perfect for nighttime flying. The Syma X8C Ventura is recommended for users who wants a bigger drone that resembles some of the Best Drones 2017, but are not ready to actually go for the big guns yet.

3. Hubsan H107D X4

Hubsan H107D X4 Best Drones Under $100On the 3rd place on this list we find the Hubsan H107D X4. This stable miniature drone is the smallest FPV (First Person View) RTF (Ready To Fly) quadcopter and features a 480p camera. The remote is surprisingly equipped with a built-in 4.3 inch LCD live monitor screen so that you can operate the drone in FPV which is amazing for a drone of this size.

In case of low battery the Hubsan will safely land on its own in order to prevent itself from crashing. Thanks to this you never have to worry about how much battery you have left. The major drawback of this drone is that if it gets out of your operating range it will not stop and land and therefore there’s a risk you will loose it. The control range is approximately 100 meters (328 feet) and provides an 8 minutes flight time.

As many other drones on this list, the Hubsan H107D X4 also provides the popular 360° flips and altitude hold. It can even be flown in the dark thanks to the mini LED lights and is therefore considered one of the best drones under $100. It has proven to be a very popular miniature drone and can be used both indoors and outdoors.

2. Holy Stone F181

Holy Stone F181 Best Drones Under $100This drone is slightly above the $100 price range and I apologize for that. Still this is such a good drone that I just felt that I had to put it here. The Holy Stone F181 is the best selling drone from the Holy Stone company for many good reasons. It has a control range of up to 100 meters (328 feet) and the 9 minutes flight time is also pretty badass. Not to mention that you will be provided with a bonus battery to prolong the flight time even more.

It features One Key Return, Headless Mode, One key 360° 4-ways flip and Altitude Hold. This allows the Holy Stone to become super easy and fun to fly and is the perfect choice for beginners.

One drawback I have to mention is that the motors and circuit board will become overheated during long flight sessions. Therefore it’s important to take a 10 minute break sometimes to ensure that the drone will last as long as possible.

It features a 2MP 720p camera which is very good for a drone of this price. However footages may still become quite shaky despite the 6-axis gyro, and don’t even think about night shooting as the camera sensor has a hard time capturing light. You will not be able to create professional photographs / videos with this camera and it should instead be considered an additional feature that’s fun to play with.

1. UDI U818A HD+ (Highly Recommended)

UDI U818A HD+ Best Drones Under $100And finally we have arrived to the first place on this Best Drones Under $100 list where we find the UDI U818A HD+. This drone currently has 4000 reviews on Amazon and is highly recommended for persons who’s looking for a drone under $100! The promising 7-9 minutes flight time is already one of the best in this tier but keep reading.. You’re also provided with an extra battery and a Power Bank! This allows you to fly the drone for much longer which is just one of the many great features about this drone.

The 720p HD camera can record in a crazy 30fps! Take note that there’s hardly any drones in this price range that can compete with that. However there’s no stabilization system so you can’t expect the same amount of quality footage as you would get from one of the more expensive drones.

The propeller guards surrounding the entire frame makes the UDI U818A HD+ extremely durable and easy to handle. As it also features One Key 360 flips and Headless Mode this drone might seem too good to be true? Well.. I’ve spent a lot of time reading reviews in order to find some bad qualities about it but I simply couldn’t find any. It seems like every persons that bought this drone has been very satisfied with the quality. The only downside could be that it can be hard to control outside on windy days due to its lightweight. Because of its low price and great quality this drone is recommended for beginners and deserves the first place on this Best Drones Under $100 list.
